Date
ca. 1922
Description
This decal is on one of a pair of Canadian Canoe Company paddles that date to 1922, so before the merger with Chestnut & Peterborough. They were given as a retirement gift to George Bartlett, superintendent of Algonquin Provincial Park. They are now displayed at the visitor centre at Rondeau Provincial Park in Southwestern Ontario. More about them at the following link: https://blog.ontarioparks.ca/rondeau-history-paddles/
The decal has a yellow background with black text and some red outlines. Similar to the company's later yellow decal but the last line of text on these earlier ones seem to read "ONT.CANADA." rather than just "CANADA."
